Do You have to use winter tires in winter?
Yes, you have to, but there is not a specific date, in
which you have to put them on.
For the duty of driving the vehicle only with winter tires,
we have to have wintry conditions. In the german
Highway Code (StVo) is accurately defined, what
wintry conditions are in this term.
Accordingly, you have to use winter tires, if this conditions
are on the road, such as:
-Black ice,
-Packed snow,
-Slush,
-Ice-Slippery,
-Slippery Frost.

But, if you are not using the car in those conditions, than
your vehicle doesn’t need any winter tires.
By the way:
This rule applies for all cars, also to them from abroad.
Well, as it is good to know that offences not affecting not
only the owner of a vehicle, but also the driver.
So pay attention if you drive a car, which is not yours.
Make sure it has winter tires, if called weather conditions
we have.
No need to mention that all-weather tires meet the
reqirements, too.
