Only to this group of people:
Drivers must be and at least 25 years old and must have their
driving license class B for at least 5 years without interruption.
Only with driver training:
Candidates must attend driver training that includes
at least 4×90 minutes of theory and at least 5×90 minutes
practice.
Only in Germany:
The B196 is only valid in Germany. Since it is an extension
of class B (not A) with the code number 196 is the
class only recognized in Germany.
Registration:
After successfully completing the drivers training, you will receive
a certification of attendance from the driving school.
Then you have to present this to the driving licence office
with a biometric photo and your ID.
You have maximum one year time for submitting the certification
to the driving licence office. You must not ride a the motorbike
before registered in the licence, as this is considered to be driving
without a license.
Attention:
With the acquisition of the B196 you do not get a driving license of the class A1
acquired even if you are allowed to drive class A1 motorcycles.
This means that an extension to class A2
according to § 15 paragraph 3 FEV is not possible.
